Patients often came to us for all kinds of pains. Sometimes, neither patients nor referring physicians knew what caused the pain. We do appreciate the trust and confidence from patients and their physicians, however we don't simply take an acupuncture order for "patellar tendonitis" from patient's physician.
At HeCares, we thoroughly interview and examine the patients, review patients' history; collect and analyse patients' clinical data before we arrive at our own diagnoses. Patients take our opinions seriously, which are often their 2nd, 3rd or even 4th opinion. Whether a patient is weighing the pros and cons of invasive surgeries or baffled by the symptoms that could lead to rheumatoid arthritis (RA) or complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), we make sure we are able to connect the dots and acupuncture will be the right approach. When dealing with pains and injuries, one of the tools we must utilize is radiology. We not only refer patients to imaging tests when needed, but also request patients' imaging tests to be reviewed before we treat them. Seeing is believing! Patients are so excited and relieved when they actually SEE the often overlooked bone spurs which cause the pain. They are also grateful when we tell them that acupuncture can't FIX the torn ACL shown on the MRIs we ordered but acupuncture can be very effective for post-surgery healing. At HeCares, we strive to update our knowledge and improve our skills to continuingly play a critical role in patient care and achieve better clinical outcomes.
