Stung and Poked...

10/7/2019

HeCares offers Urgent Care! Our patient came after being stung by yellow jackets at multiple sites. Acupuncture seemed to have made pain and swelling better within an hour...

Let her tell the story as is.

Day of stings: Thursday 11/03/19  ca 10 am

Quick extensive swelling, intense itching and burning and redness. Heated feeling at touch extending beyond redness. Benadryl  Anti itch gel had no significant effect. Took immediately 180 mg Allegra and 150 mg Zantac according to principle doctors general instructions for wasp/bee stings. Due to number of stings and fast and extensive reaction, I  called my doctor’s office and saw a sub doctor. She did not think my reaction needed me to have an Epipen. Told me to treat hand with ice every 2 hrs and to expect more swelling the following day. Took in the evening 50 mg Benadryl and 20 mg Pepcid (Zantac has been recalled) according to principal doctors instruction.

Burning and itching so intense that it interfered with sleep. Anti itch cream had no effect.

Saw you Friday at 11:00 am. We could see an immediate reduction of your treatment in the swelling and it continued to go down (see separately sent pictures). Itching and burning have also diminished and had no difficulty to sleep last night. All bite areas and near areas are still red and skin warm at touch. Taking your herbal pills but also the antihistamines.
